Sunset Cafe & The Dock opiniones
22Food, drink and service were very good - if you're staying at Timothy Beach Resort, having a meal (or just coffee) at the Sunset Restaurant or a drink at the Dock is a very nice experience. [Food can also be delivered to the Dock from the Sunset Restaurant.]
Got a veggie breakfast burrito which was very yummy. Partner got the chicken and waffles and said they weren't very good. Restaurant is on a not so pretty beach. Staff was friendly and attentive. Overall, recommend for a quick bite on the water.
On the beach- freshest fish I've had in a long time. Friendly waitstaff. Gluten-free is not much of a problem for them (they seem to understand cross-contamination)
The breakfast was average. The sausage was extremely dry (old), French toast and pancake were okay, the scrambled eggs were good.
Nice view!
We stay at the Timothy Beach Resort every trip & this is where we eat breakfast. Had about every item on the menu. We love the snack bites at lunch beachside. Banana pancakes, salt fish roti, omelettes, French toast… it’s all good! On certain days the cook can sing country music like a champ:) and we love it. Crispy chicken wings at lunch and smoothies all day. Get the Ting with A Sting too! Best way to start the day is Sunset Cafe!
The view and the patio are great. The service is on par with island life, but the food wasn't all that good.
I do like dining here when craving some traditional local cuisine, and it never fails to satisfy. The food is always tasty, and the view from within looking out to the Caribbean Sea is spectacular, to say the least.
A good place to eat and take in the clear blue water of the Caribbean Sea.
Customer service was lacking. No one greeted me. Didn’t even stand when I went in or offer a menu. When I asked for one, they told me to get it myself from being an employee only area. When asked for vegetarian options as per what is told on the menu, they didn’t have any. Rude.
My wife and I ate here on numerous occasions while staying at the Timothy beach resort. The food was delicious and our server Kimberly was so nice.
We had numerous breakfasts, lunches and dinners while staying at the Timothy beach resort. The service is great and the staff are so friendly. We got a big hug from Kimberly on our last night here. Try the fruit infused pancakes for breakfast or the salt fish, if you want to eat like a local! The ribs and mahi mahi are also delicious as are the coconut shrimp.
Great little bar at the start of frigate bay. The bartender was friendly, informative, and attentive. Best experience so far on the island (hour 3)
We had lunch at Sunset and it was wonderful. The waitress was so kind, friendly and attentive. Two of us ordered a large pepperoni and it was huge. We were able to take some home. We also had refreshing ice cream for dessert! They have great views right on Frigate Beach. I would definitely recommend stopping in for a meal here!
One of the only places on the beach with lobster! On my last night it was a must. Service was very attentive as well. Everything my family had was delicious. Been coming to the island for 20+ years
Impossible to get service
Despite staying in the hotel attached for whatever reason the waitress refused to serve me. I asked for the menu and 20 minutes later she was serving everyone but me. I asked for a coke and none arrived. Went to the front desk to tell them and whilst they took my complaint seriously I didn't hear anything about it the rest of my stay. There are plenty of nicer places around which actually have waitresses who serve patrons.
After receiving mixed reviews from other travelers we decided to try it. That was our first mistake. We arrived around 7: 30 and we were promptly greeted, the restaurant was very empty - should have been a sign. We ordered beverages which were delivered in reasonable time but slow considering the lack of diners. We then ordered dinner which included a salad and main course.
Our waitress left the table and we waited over 45 minutes noticing that our waitress was involved in a conversation with someone on the other side of the restaurant appearing to be either her superior or a customer in either case he was not smiling.
Either way we were ignored. There were also 2 kitchen staff with chef hats sitting on the patio near or table who were either done for the day or on break.
When we finally got our waitresses attention we told her that we had never received our Caesar Salads and would just like a check for our drinks and that we were leaving.
She promptly ran to the open kitchen area and immediately brought out our dinners accompanied by 2 kitchen staffers. She said she was sorry. When asked what became of our Caesar Salad she said it was served on the same plate with our dinner. I should have taken a picture for this review, perhaps the smallest salad I have ever seen.
Reluctantly we remained seated almost feeling embarrassed to leave, with the 3 of them hovering over us. Our food was at best warm indicating that it had sat unattended for a long time.
Considering that the islands main industry is tourism this restaurant falls short of the mark.
The Dock is the place to be at 5 for some beautiful scenery and great local beers. Kevaughn is a great laugh also—really pleasant guy. Once we discovered it, there was no going anywhere else.
Very nice, on the beach restaurant. Food is ok, not crazy good. Be prepared for the "island time" service. The restaurant can be a bit slow for unknown reasons. Otherwise, great atmosphere and friendly staff. We ate lunch there and with only about 15 people in the restaurant, it took just under 1.5 hours for us to get our food. Hope this was just a fluke.
Great food, service & steel drum players! Been here many times and allways great! Right on the strip where the action is! Real Caribbean vibes. Try it & you'll love it!
Good breakfast food but the desserts weren't very good. The bar on the beach is where almost every night was spent. You can get a bucket of 6 beers for a little over $5 during happy hour. The bartenders were great and would make whatever mix drink you wanted plus the drinks tasted great every time.
Good food great location friendly staff.watch out for beach seller's trying to sell music cds and dvds at extortionate prices (us dollars)
